Going on vacation can be a bit stressful if you are worried about keeping fit and healthy because, like myself, I worry about the after math when I get back. Below are some tips I thought would be helpful to you when you go on your next vacation! Enjoy yourself and have fun, but keep your health in mind when doing so! Everything in moderation!

5 Tips on How To Stay in Shape When Traveling

  1. Breakfast - start the day off with a big healthy breakfast! Most of the hotels include breakfast so to save money and to get a boost of energy for the day, eat some yummy breakfast.

  2. Physical Activity - Make exercise a part of your plans. Whether if it is swimming, hiking, walking a long the beach, or playing any sports. Try to keep active when it is possible.

  3. Limit Drinks - Cut back on liquid calories. I am not saying skip the booze and sugary drinks, but everything in moderation. Have one, but do your best to refrain from a lot at once. Drink water in between and stay hydrated.

  4. Avoid processed foods and meats - Eat whole foods like proteins, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. I would recommend at least one cheat meal per day or every other day. Try your best to avoid two cheat meals in a row. I usually like to have healthier meals and then I like my dessert to be the meal I treat myself too.

  5. Buy groceries - Depending on the duration of your stay, do a quick grocery run! Grab a few healthy snacks and small meals you can make in your hotel or bed & breakfast. I like to bring a few protein bars or homemade granola for the trip to have as a snack that I am familiar with already.

Hope you have a safe and healthy trip!
